Santa Bárbara Honduras… 25 de noviembre se conmemora el día internacional a la no violencia contra la mujer razón por la cual el Movimiento Ambientalista MAS conmemora este día con un plantón frente a la catedral de esta ciudad, exigiendo se respete el derecho a la vida.
Mujeres organizadas del Movimiento Ambientalista MAS y defensoras de Derechos Humanos realizan un plantón frente a la catedral, con el objetivo de protestar en contra la violación a los derechos de la mujer, hoy 25 de noviembre que se conmemora el día de la no violencia en contra de la mujer.
Según la coordinadora del MAS Betty Vásquez Esta fecha se conmemora desde el año 1959 en memoria de tres mujeres asesinadas en república Dominicana supuestamente por un gobierno dictador de esa época.
Estás mujeres eran hermanas y supuestamente fueron asesinadas por exigir sus derechos, los nombres de estas mujeres eran Patria, Minerva y Teresa las cuales eran conocidas como las mariposas, se habían cambiado el nombre por seguridad.
Desde entonces mujeres organizadas en Honduras conmemoran esta fecha con varias actividades que van desde plantones hasta manifestaciones en las calles exigiendo se respeten sus derechos.
Según estadísticas del MAS en los últimos cinco años se registra un femicidio en cada municipio, siendo Santa Bárbara, Quimistan y Macuelizo los que más hechos violentos se dan en contra de la mujer. Además, en los últimos años se han asesinado dos mujeres Lencas de la comunidad de Macholoa.
Los casos más sonados de en este departamento fue el asesinato de las hermanas Alvarado hecho ocurrido en el año 2014.además de María Antonia Pérez originaria de la comunidad Lenca San Antonio Suchitepeque Zacapa.
Según la coordinadora del MAS la mujer no solo sufre violencia al ser asesinada también cuando es agredida, insultadas o violada sexualmente muchas veces por sus propias parejas.
La actividad concluyó en horas del mediodía con varias consignas exigiendo se respeten los derechos a la mujer, además de Santa Bárbara otras ciudades de país han realizado marchas plantones en conmemoración del día a la no violencia contra la mujer.
