Tegucigalpa, Francisco Morazán. – Por encontrarle en posesión de 21 pericos frente naranja, 27 frente verde y 10 loras frente blanca, la Fiscalía de Nacaome presenta requerimiento fiscal contra Javier Hernández por suponerle responsable de la comisión del delito de daños a especies amenazadas en perjuicio de la diversidad biológica.

Según el informe investigativo, el procesado venía en un autobús de la ruta Langue, San Pedro Sula, cuando en un retén en el Canal Seco, uno de los militares observó como uno de los especímenes se salió de un recipiente. Inmediatamente, Hernández respondió que los llevaba de regalo a su lugar de origen pero al hacerle la inspección de un canasto encontraron la cantidad de aves antes mencionada.

Personal técnico (bióloga) de la Fiscalía de Choluteca, informó que las aves estaban deshidratadas, algunas sufrían fracturas, mutilación, entre otros daños.

En ese sentido, de las que se puedan rehabilitar, se contempla liberarlas en su hábitat natural en algún lugar ya establecido por autoridades del Instituto de Conservación Forestal (ICF) y la empresa privada.
