Santa Bárbara es una pequeña ciudad del occidente del país, su economía depende mucho del rubro del café, cultivo de granos básicos y ganadería, en menor escala el turismo, esta región es visitada por turistas nacionales e internacionales y dejan algunos ingresos a los dueños de negocios.
En la cabecera departamental su economía se ha estancado debido al cierre de muchos negocios como ser tiendas, restaurantes y algunas bodegas, así como abarroterías, situación que ha dejado sin empleo a varias personas de esta ciudad, esto debido a la crisis generada por la pandemia del Covid-19 más los fenómenos naturales, pero sobre todo el alto costo de la energía eléctrica.
Consultados los pequeños comerciantes del sector, la principal causa del cierre de estos negocios se debe al alto costo de la energía eléctrica, las facturas de consumo son arriba de los diez mil lempiras cantidades que no se pueden pagar por los microempresarios, porque las ventas están bajas.
Mario Chávez es un pequeño microempresario de esta ciudad que se dedica a la confección de ropa, es uno de los afectados con estos altos costos de la energía. Su negocio es taller que de 15 redujo a ocho los empleados y ahora paga 40% más.
Chávez manifestó que en este país no hay condiciones para los microempresario y pequeños empresarios por los altos costos de operación, además de la energía eléctrica, los impuestos son demasiados altos y para los que pagan alquiler y empleado se hace difícil que los pequeños negocios puedan subsistir.
Además de los negocios, en los hogares de las familias hondureñas las facturas son altas por lo que los consumidores no les quedan recursos para poder comprar la canasta básica completa y los que lo hacen únicamente compran lo mas necesario y son afectados ellos también al no haber circulante de dinero, dijo Mario Chávez.
Mario Chávez lamento que no apoyen a los pequeños microempresarios, pero a las grandes empresas les generan todas las condiciones y estas hacen grandes monopolios para terminar con los emprendedores.
Hago un llamado al gobierno central para que apoye más aquellos emprendedores, pequeños comerciantes y microempresarios, generando condiciones como ser bajas tarifas en la electricidad y pago de impuestos. Redacción Alex Sabillón.
