Trinidad Santa Bárbara se prepara para quema de las chimeneas gigantes, evento que se realizado desde el año 2009 que dio inicio esta actividad, cada año se hacen diferentes imágenes de tamaños enormes y representan un acontecimiento histórico o personajes de fama mundial.
A falta de pocos días los miembros de grupo teatral la Siembra trabaja día y noche para terminar las figuras que representan este año las chimeneas gigantes que serán quemadas el día siete de diciembre en la celebración de este evento que se ha vuelto una tradición en Trinidad Santa Bárbara.
En el año 2018 las imágenes fueron dedicados a personajes cómicos del cine mexicano donde los presentes pudieron disfrutar la replica de Cantinflas, el Chavo del Ocho y de algunos animales Además de figuras como el planeta tierra.
Los encargados de esta iniciativa son los miembros del grupo teatral la Siembra de la ciudad de Trinidad Santa Bárbara occidente de Honduras la cual la realizando desde hace 10 años de forma consecutiva durante el mes de diciembre de cada año.
Las enormes y bellas figuras son hechas para ser quemadas, aunque muchos opinan que se deberían conservar, dado que son muy bien confeccionadas y de alto valor económico por los materiales y el tiempo invertido en su fabricación.
El lugar donde se ubican una vez construidas estas figuras es llamado el Paseo Real de las Chimeneas Gigantes y siempre tiene un tema diferente y se realiza en una amplia calle de la ciudad para dar mas espacio a los visitantes y vecinos de Trinidad, además en el lugar puede degustar ricos platos típicos de la ciudad y del país.
Este evento por ser único en el país atrae turistas de todo el territorio nacional, así como internacionales lo que hace que Hoteles y Restaurantes se vuelvan insuficientes para albergar a los visitantes. Este año el evento se llevará a cabo los días cinco, seis y siete de diciembre.
