Esto, debido a que las Reformas Constitucionales llevaron a la creación de los nuevos organismos electorales.
Esto ha dado paso a este proceso que está muy avanzado de las nuevas normativas que van a regir estas instituciones, lo hicimos con algunos ligeros sobresaltos, pero generalmente en armonía y pudimos construir consensos con las 7 bancadas representadas por mandato expreso del pueblo hondureño en este recinto legislativo”.
En cuanto a la reglamentación de la reelección, el funcionario indicó que ha sido un tema de amplia discusión. Pero si se analiza la sentencia de la Corte Suprema de Justicia, es porque alguien invocó sus derechos humanos y conciudadanos a elegir y ser electo.
Por lo tanto, detalló que el Congreso Nacional podría reglamentar dicha reelección. Sin embargo, Oliva resaltó que ese mismo artículo se podría esgrimir en cualquier momento, «porque ya se creó jurisprudencia al respecto. Precisó que se debe ser un ente superior al que se dirige, el que defina esa situación. Con respecto a una segunda vuelta en las elecciones, Oliva apuntó que no hay un consenso sobre ese tema. Aunque, pormenorizó en lo que no estén de acuerdo en la cámara legislativa también irá a consulta popular.
Al mismo tiempo, afirmó que el único partido que puede sumar mayoría calificada se llama Partido Nacional de Honduras. Por eso la responsabilidad y el peso de la conducción de este proceso inevitablemente recae en los hombros de mi partido político
De acuerdo con Mauricio Oliva, fue una legislatura muy productiva, ya que sobresalen la ley de alivio de deuda, de vivienda, rescato. Además, reiteró que «hubo tranquilidad y terminamos en un ámbito de calma, de objetividad, respetando la visión que cada quien tiene de algunos aspectos políticos, sociales y económicos del país, concluyó.
