Santa Bárbara Honduras. www.loschuñas.com. Niños abandonados y expuestos a la pandemia del Covid-19 caminan por las calles de la ciudad de Santa Bárbara, pidiendo dinero y comida para alimentarse y poder ayudar a su familia y sus hermanos menores.

A continuación, presentamos un trabajo donde conoceremos la triste situación que viven varios niños en las calles de la ciudad de Santa Bárbara, cabe mencionar que no daremos a conocer los nombres de estos menores de edad ni su lugar de residencia.  

Muy temprano cuatro niños emprenden camino a la cabecera departamental de Santa Bárbara, en busca de comida y algo de dinero para poder ayudar a su familiares y hermanitos, que se quedan en su humilde casa forrada con cartones y láminas de zinc, ubicada a orilla de la carretera que conduce a una importante ciudad del país.

La edad de estos cuatros menores es de 14, 11, 10 y 7 años, viven con su abuela pues su padre está preso en una de las cárceles del país y su madre se escapó con otro hombre dejándolos en el abandono y al cuidado de su abuela, desde hace aproximadamente 5 años.

La historia es la misma, desde muy tempranos los cuatro menores emprenden camino a la ciudad de Santa Bárbara, la cual esta a unos cuantos kilómetros de distancia de su humilde casa, sus pies descalzos ya tienen callos de caminar sobre el pavimento, tanto en la mañana con en la tarde que regresan a su casa.

Dialogamos con uno de ellos, por cierto, el mayor, quien nos pidió que lo entrevistamos para el canal de televisión en el cual laboramos, argumentando querer conseguir una ayuda para él y su familia, acordamos hacerla el siguiente día, pero luego cambió de opinión y el ofrecí entrevistarlo para este periódico, donde nos comprometimos que no daríamos a conocer su nombre, a lo cual aceptó.

El niño inició la entrevista contando, cuando yo tenía 8 años mi papa fue acusado de violar a una mujer, (no quiso dar detalles) por lo cual la policía lo capturó y nos quedamos al cuidado solo de mi mamá, la cual lavaba ropa para poder comprar comida para los 6 que éramos en mi casa, a veces comíamos otras veces nos acostamos sin comer.

Luego de unos meses mi mamá viajaba casi todos los días a Santa Bárbara, yo no sé si será cierto, pero me di cuenta, que acá venía acostarse con hombres para llevar dinero, muchas veces llegaba un poco tomada y con pollo para nosotros, otras veces nos decía que no había conseguido nada y que teníamos que acostarnos sin comer, mi abuela que vivía cerca de nosotros nos daba tortillas con frijoles a mi y mis hermanos.

Después de unos meses que mi mamá viajaba a Santa Bárbara, un día ya no regresó nunca más, después de dos días Salí a buscarla por todas las calles de Santa Bárbara, sin poderla encontrar, la búsqueda duró todo el día bajo el sol y con mucha hambre, pregunte por ella sin tener resultados.

Ese día ya cansado casi a las 2:00 de la tarde me acerque a un lugar que venden pollo cerca del presidio, había gente comiendo, luego que casi todos se fueron, me acerque a las mesas y empecé a buscar pedazos de pollo y tortillas de lo que la gente había dejado, fue así como comí algo, también bebí refresco de los culos, que esa gente dejó.  

Luego me fui a otro lugar que también vendían comida y hice lo mismo, hasta lograr llenarme un poco, me fui al parque un rato, por la tarde me fui a mi casa caminando porque no pude conseguir jalón, llegando cansado con hambre, le Conté a mi abuela todo lo que hice y ella me dijo que ya no hiciera eso que era peligroso andar en la calle.

A pesar que mi abuela no estaba de acuerdo que fuera a buscar a mi mamá yo no le hice caso y el otro día, muy de mañana me fui otra vez a Santa Bárbara, empecé a caminar por las calles con la esperanza de encontrar a mi mama sin poder encontrarla, llegó la hora de comer, hice lo mismo me fui a los lugares que venden comida y de lo que la gente dejaba de eso comía yo.

La historia se repitió por muchos días, ya no iba a buscar a mama, si no que iba porque allí, hasta comía mejor en que en la casa de mi abuela y empecé a recoger lo que la gente dejaba y le llevaba a mi hermanos y abuela, casi siempre era pollo, hasta los huesos nos comíamos.   después una mujer en el parque me dijo que mi mamá se había ido con un hombre y era cierto porque ella nos dijo después.  

Un día me acerque a un lugar que venden baleadas, donde estaba un hombre y una mujer, con pena le pedí una y el me la regalo, la verdad me dio mucha pena porque yo no había pedido, pero solo fue la primera vez, después pedía todos los días a toda hora,  y también pedía pisto, empecé a ir a lugares donde venden comida y allí conseguía comida y pisto pues me gusto y desde hace 5 años hago eso pedir en la calles y en los negocios.

Después de algún tiempo me empezó acompañar uno de mis hermanitos, luego otro y otro, hoy pedimos nosotros los tres hermanos y un primo de nosotros, a veces conseguimos y otros días no conseguimos pisto, pero si nos vamos bien comidos a mi casa.

Un buen día recojo 100 lempiras. Otros días 40 o 50 pesos esos me los llevo a la casa para que coma mi familia o compro algo de comer y poder llevar a la casa, pero como salimos todos los días siempre conseguimos algo de comer.

Los discriminan: Mire la gente nos dicen cosas, que no pidamos que vayamos a la escuela, o nos hacen muchas preguntas, muchos de ellos solos por preguntar, porque ni nos dan nada, otra gente nos dice cosas, pero nos dan algunos pesos, pero también hay gente que nos aconseja que vayamos a la escuela.

Hay hombres que nos dicen, dejen de joder trabajen, o díganle a su papá o mamá que trabaja para que los mantenga, recuerdo que una vez un señor dijo ya no se puede comer acá porque ya vienen eso cipotes hijos de p… a joder, se levantó de la mesa y se fue dejando la comida en el plato, pues yo me la comi.  

También algunos dueños de comedores nos insultan o nos corren de sus negocios, pero también hay otros que nos dan comida, en la calle también nos insultan, algo que a mi no me gusta es que me empiecen a preguntar por mi papá y mi mamá, o lo hacen solo por saber porque ni nos ayudan.

El riesgo de contagiarse con Covid-19. La verdad no nos da miedo yo ando una mascarilla mire (sacando una mascarilla vieja de la bolsa de su calzoneta sucia y parchada) pero casi no la me la pongo, solo cuando miramos que viene la policía, mi abuela nos dice que no vengamos que nos puede pegar esa enfermedad, pero si no venimos no comemos.

Hoy la cosa es peor cuando cerraron los lugares donde venden comida, viera si aguantamos hambre, casi no conseguimos comida, apenas yo conseguía 20 lempiras y otras veces nada, hoy que ya abrieron todo si conseguimos algo y llevamos a la casa también.

Para finalizar le preguntamos a este niño que le pide al presidente o la alcaldesa de Santa Bárbara, a lo cual contestó: pues yo nada esa gente no da nada usted, mire que hay veces vamos a la municipalidad a pedir agua y mas bien nos sacan corriendo.
