Honduras. De un paro cardíaco muere a sus 76 años el expresidente de Honduras, Rafael Leonardo Callejas, en un hospital en Estados Unidos, el exmandatario enfrentaba un proceso judicial en la Corte del Distrito Este de New York por actos de corrupción dentro del escándalo del FIFAGATE.
Callejas guardaba prisión bajo la medida casa por cárcel, mientras esperaba que se dictaminara su sentencia, la que estaba programada para el 11 de mayo de 2020. Rafael Leonardo Callejas (76), expresidente hondureño (1990-1994), falleció este sábado en Atlanta, Estados Unidos, tras una larga enfermedad.
Su primo y diputado Antonio Rivera Callejas, confirmó la información en Tegucigalpa. Según se informó el exmandatario ingresó el viernes a un hospital de dicha ciudad y este sábado falleció de un infarto.
