Diversas organizaciones de sociedad civil señalaron que cerca de 2 millones de niños y jóvenes en Honduras se encuentran en abandono escolar, situación que se ha agudizado producto de la emergencia sanitaria de COVID-19, situación confirmada por el actual ministro de educación en programa de televisión.

En un pronunciamiento emitido este lunes, las organizaciones calificaron de “inaceptable” el aumento de la exclusión escolar y la desigualdad de la educación en Honduras, debido a la crisis sanitaria sumado a la falta de decisiones políticas acertadas desde la institucionalidad. Según expertos las formas que buscaron para seguir en clases fracasaron debido que la mayoría de niños hondureños no tienen acceso al internet.

En el documento solicitan, además, la pronta construcción de una estrategia que permita asegurar la plena cobertura de la educación en casa o a distancia; la cual deben incluir las priorizaciones de contenidos curriculares y metodológicas que deben cumplirse por ciclo educativo y la curricular no priorizada que será distribuida en los dos próximos años escolares, se debió buscar una forma de enseñanza efectiva desde el inicio indicaron.

La coalición de organizaciones propone priorizar el uso de la televisión para alcanzar la mayor cobertura, la radio como una segunda opción y el uso del WhatsApp y la llamada telefónica como una iniciativa complementaria pero no sustituta para la televisión y la radio. La cual dio inicio hoy de una forma masiva en medios televisivos nacionales y locales, así como en diferentes radios.  

Es necesario que “en el marco de la aprobada regulación de educación en casa, activar con mayor decisión esta modalidad con el apoyo de comunidades organizadas y voluntarios para hacer grupos de aprendizaje con no más de 5 niños en hogares con dificultades para acceder a los medios de aprendizaje, además de un compromiso de los padres de familia en apoyar la educación de sus hijos.

Finalmente, las organizaciones reafirmaron su disponibilidad para cooperar y participar en un esfuerzo conjunto con la Secretaría de Educación para ofrecer soluciones que garanticen el derecho a la educación para la niñez y juventud de Honduras, recordando que la educación es inicio para el desarrollo de los pueblos.

Entre las organizaciones firmantes, aparecen Alfasic de Honduras, la Asociación para una Sociedad más Justa (ASJ), Compassion, Chispa Project, Cristianos Valientes, Confraternidad Evangélica de Honduras (CEH), Coordinadora de Instituciones Privadas Pro las Niñas, Niños, Jóvenes, Adolescentes y sus Derechos (Coiproden), la Federación de Organizaciones No Gubernamentales para el Desarrollo de Honduras (FOPRIDEH), Iglesia de Dios, Mopawi, Orphan Helpers, Plan Internacional, Transformemos Honduras y World Vision Honduras.

Además, hoy el ministro de educación Arnaldo Bueso informó que se suspendían durante el año 2020 las clases presenciales, argumentando que no hay condiciones para un regreso a clases, también pidió a los docentes seguir impartiendo las clases virtuales, agradeció a los propietarios de los medios de comunicación del país los cuales pusieron a disposición sus empresas para impartir las clases.

Cabe mencionar que, en todo el país, los canales locales de las diferentes ciudades de Honduras han estado transmitiendo las clases para miles de niños hondureños que tienen acceso a la televisión por cable, de igual forma los docentes utilizando algunas redes sociales imparten clases a sus alumnos dentro de la su posibilidad.
