Santa Bárbara Honduras… Con el objetivo de revivir la identidad nacional reforzar y recuperar la espiritualidad de los pueblos indígenas del departamento el Movimiento Ambientalista Santabarbarense MAS capacita a representantes de tribus indígenas.

Este día se realiza una capacitación a varios líderes de las comunidades indígenas del departamento con el objetivo de concientizarlos en mantener vivas las costumbres de sus pueblos, así como de consumir productos cultivados y producidos en sus comunidades.

El proyecto lleva por nombre Fortalecimiento las capacidades de incidencia social y política ante los impactos del extractivismo y cambio climático de mujeres en los territorios Lencas.

En el taller participan 30 hombres de las diferentes comunidades Lencas del departamento, con una duración de 16 horas. Esta capacitación se esta realizando el día jueves 5 y viernes 6 de diciembre, las facilitadoras del evento son Carmen Castro CESADE, con el apoyo técnico de Izabel Martínez y el apoyo logístico del MAS.

Santa Bárbara es un departamento con muchas comunidades indígenas entre las que destacan Macholoa en Santa Bárbara, San Antonio de Suchitepeque en Zacapa, Umigua en Ilama, chinda y otro municipio de la región.

Ramon David López. El Movimiento Ambientalista Santabarbarense MAS trabaja siempre en la recuperación de la identidad de los pueblos indígenas del departamento, además de escuchar a los participantes de sus ideas para mantener vivas estas costumbres y fomentar su espiritualidad indígena.

Se realizó una figura lenca que reprenda la tierra sus artesanías y productos que producen estas comunidades indígenas como ser bananos que ellos llaman morocas, patastes y algunos granos como maíz y frijoles.

Según este militante del MAS lamento que hay comunidades indígenas lencas como Ilama, Gualala, Zacapa, Chinda entre otros que han dejado morir sus costumbres Lencas, pero resalto otras comunidades como Macholoa que sus habitantes siguen viviendo como lo hacían sus antepasados.
