Santa Bárbara Honduras. Hogar de ancianos el buen Samaritano un lugar de amor y atención para el adulto mayor del departamento de Santa Bárbara que no tiene quien los cuide y les de protección, por lo que este se convierte en su casa.
A tan solo dos kilómetros al norte de la ciudad de Santa Bárbara, en la carretera que de esta cabecera departamental conduce a de San Pedro Sula se encuentra el hogar de ancianos el Buen Samaritano, un lugar donde los ancianos que sufren abandono encuentran mucha atención y amor.
Además de la atención médica, la alimentación los ancianos que habitan el hogar reciben el amor de los 13 empleados los cuales cuidan de ellos como si fueran sus propios padres, de sus familiares que llegan frecuentemente a compartir con sus parientes, también de las personas de buen corazón que van al lugar a donar alimentos, medicamentos y ropa.
Actualmente el hogar de ancianos esta atendiendo a 28 adultos mayores de ambos sexos, los cuales son beneficiados con 3 comidas y 2 meriendas diarias, atención médica y sus respectivos medicamentos permanentes, una enfermera que los cuida durante la noche, además del aseo personal.
El hogar de ancianos el Buen Samaritano funciona con una pequeña ayuda del gobierno central, donaciones de ONG, colegios, escuelas, iglesias, empresa privada y donaciones de buenos pateplumas que a diario pasan dejando algunos alimentos y productos de primera necesidad.
Los ancianos que tengan familiares pueden ser visitados por estos cuando lo consideren oportuno sin ninguna restricción, además pueden llevar pequeñas donaciones voluntarias para ser compartidos con el grupo de ocupantes del hogar.
Algunos artistas y grupos organizados de la ciudad llegan al hogar a compartir con los ancianos llevando música, bocadillos, frutas, refrescos, realizando actividades como peinarlos, a las ancianas pintarles las uñas y compartir con ellos mediante largas conversaciones.
