Debido a la saturación de suelos por las copiosas lluvias de los últimos días, la Secretaría en los Despachos de Gestión del Riesgo y Contingencias Nacionales COPECO, determinó elevar a Alerta Amarilla por 24 horas a los departamentos de Copán, Ocotepeque, Lempira e Intibucá a partir de la tarde de este miércoles.
continúa vigente la Alerta Amarilla emitida el martes 15 de septiembre para el departamento de Francisco Morazán, como también en los municipios aledaños a la ribera del río Ulúa en los que se incluye a Pimienta, Villanueva, Potrerillos y San Manuel en Cortés; Santa Rita, El Progreso y El Negrito en Yoro, hasta Ramal del Tigre en Tela Atlántida.
Asimismo, se conserva el nivel de Alerta Verde en los departamentos de Cortés, Santa Bárbara, La Paz, Comayagua, Yoro, El Paraíso, Choluteca y Valle por el mismo periodo de tiempo, esto debido a las fuertes lluvias que han azotado estas regiones, donde se reportan daños de viviendas y a la infraestructura de carreteras y puentes.
Mientras en Francisco Morazán obedece a que debido a la continuidad de las lluvias y el contenido de humedad del suelo se pudieran presentar deslizamientos, especialmente en el municipio de Distrito Central; en el caso de los municipios aledaños a la ribera del río Ulúa en el Valle de Sula, se deriva de que las fuertes lluvias de las últimas horas han incrementado su nivel, por lo que se pudiera presentar el desbordamiento del mismo.
La Alerta Verde se acata porque continuarán las lluvias durante los próximos días, lo que incrementará la probabilidad de ocurrencia de deslizamientos y el aumento de los niveles de quebradas y ríos especialmente en los departamentos bajo alerta. En los cuales las precipitaciones podrían ser de hasta 50 milímetros de agua. Redacción Alex Sabillón.
