Después de muchas horas de trabajo se logró controlar incendio en la reserva nacional montaña Santa Bárbara, donde participaron cuerpo de Bomberos, miembros de Ejército Nacional, trabajadores del Instituto de Conservación Forestal ICF, patronatos, juntas de agua y vecinos de las comunidades cercanas.
Varios grupos de apoyo, miembros del Cuerpo de Bomberos y otras instituciones del gobierno, se logró controlar la tarde del miércoles el incendio forestal en la montaña Santa Bárbara, el cual inicio el día martes en horas de la mañana.
Según Juan Cantarero jefe del cuerpo de Bomberos de Santa Bárbara fue una tarea muy difícil debido a lo difícil del acceso al lugar donde se produjo el incendio, el recorrido en carro era de 2.5 horas y luego 5 horas caminando para llegar al incendio.
Manifestó estar muy agradecido con los vecinos de las comunidades cercanas como el Cedral, el Cielito y el Portillo, además de juntas de agua y patronatos de la estas comunidades por todo el apoyo brindado, durante la acción de combate al incendio.
Cantarero dijo que el incendio era subterráneo debido a la cantidad de hoja que hay en el bosque, el cual es de un aproximado de tres metros, situación que dificulto mas extinguir el fuego, logró mediante rondas y excavaciones.
