Al minuto 9, argentino Gonzalo Klusener hizo el 1-0 a favor de Motagua, Walter Martínez marcó el 2-0, a los 21 minutos siempre del primer tiempo. En el minuto 31, Isaías Olariaga remató de cabeza y puso el definitivo 2-1 a favor de los azules.

Mientras tanto en San Pedro Sula en el estadio Morazán, El Real España, le gano por 5-0 al Honduras Progreso en el partido de cierre de la tercera fecha del torneo Apertura de Liga Nacional.
